Album Notes & Community Reviews
Conceptually based upon the tragic true story of the whaleship Essex, the German 'nautik doom' pioneers expand their incredibly slow, crushing sound on their sophomore effort. The band integrates clean, mournful vocal passages and lush, reverberating guitar melodies amidst the terrifyingly heavy funeral doom riffs. The record perfectly captures the desolate, terrifying vastness of oceanic survival.
