Album Notes & Community Reviews

Formed out of the prolific Chicago AACM collective, the trio known as Air (Henry Threadgill, Fred Hopkins, Steve McCall) released their stunning debut via the Japanese 'Why Not' label. 'Air Song' captures a highly interactive, telepathic level of group improvisation, pushing avant-garde jazz structures deeply into dynamic, rhythmically open territory.
