Album Notes & Community Reviews
A notable departure from their metal-infused past, 'Shelter' sees Alcest fully embracing shoegaze and dream pop influences. The album eschews all harsh vocals and distorted guitars in favor of bright, shimmering textures and an overwhelmingly serene atmosphere. Featuring a guest appearance from Slowdive's Neil Halstead, it stands as the band's most gentle and purely blissful record.
