Album Notes & Community Reviews

Driven by the massive success of the synthesizer-heavy anthem 'Fantasy', this self-titled debut perfectly encapsulated the transition of hard rock into the slick, image-conscious MTV era. The multi-instrumentalist self-produced the record, expertly layering glossy melodic hooks over robust guitar heroics to create a highly commercial arena rock sound. It established a wildly successful blueprint for mainstream AOR that would dominate radio formats throughout the decade.
