Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by John Parish (known for his work with PJ Harvey), the New Zealand songwriter's sophomore effort is an intensely intimate, deeply theatrical evolution of her acoustic folk sound. The record utilizes startlingly diverse, shape-shifting vocal performances and incredibly sparse instrumentation to deliver cryptic lyrics about anxiety, heartbreak, and emotional endurance. It served as a massive international breakthrough, earning her widespread critical acclaim.
