Album Notes & Community Reviews
The Australian singer-songwriter strips away the sleazy, character-driven personas of his previous work to deliver a surprisingly sincere, albeit darkly humorous, exploration of his real-life romance. The album relies on lush, 1980s-inspired heartland rock and synth-pop arrangements to frame his sharp, satirical, and highly explicit lyricism regarding commitment, sex work, and modern masculinity.
