Album Notes & Community Reviews

Representing a crucial stylistic counterpoint within Portuguese music, the veteran fadista delivers a highly stylized, rhythmic interpretation of the melancholic genre. His idiosyncratic phrasing and unique structural alterations heavily influenced the trajectory of traditional fado performance. The album captures the essence of his legendary, intimate nightclub appearances.
