Completed shortly before his passing, the Malian guitarist's final solo work is a masterful showcase of the 'desert blues' style. The interplay between traditional West African instrumentation, particularly the ngoni, and blues song structures is deeply hypnotic. It is universally revered as a magnificent capstone to a legendary career.
