Stepping away from pure horror theatrics, the project incorporates jarring pastiches of country music, Hollywood orchestrations, and slick pop ballads. The massive success of the sentimental ballad 'You and Me' stood in stark contrast to the singer's rapid personal deterioration, which resulted in his institutionalization shortly after the tour.
