Album Notes & Community Reviews
Marking a dramatic stylistic departure, the British band shed their gothic-folk origins to fully embrace the swirling, effects-heavy textures of the shoegaze movement. 'Ultraviolet' incorporates shimmering guitars and hypnotic rhythms, perfectly complementing Julianne Regan's ethereal, romantic vocal performances. While alienating some early fans, the reinvention produced a deeply atmospheric and highly regarded dream pop record.
