Album Notes & Community Reviews
Conceived by Johan Brand of the Swedish progressive rock band Änglagård, 'A Drop of Light' is a dense and cinematic work of symphonic and avant-garde rock. The compositions are intricate and dark, built upon complex arrangements that blend vintage keyboard textures like Mellotron and organ with a wide array of woodwinds, brass, and percussive instruments. Featuring largely wordless, operatic vocals, the album's sound is often compared to the darker facets of King Crimson and the RIO (Rock in Opposition) movement, creating a dynamic and stylistically rich listening experience.
