Album Notes & Community Reviews

The masterful songwriter and producer stepped out from behind the mixing board to deliver a stunning collection of sophisticated, socially conscious Southern soul. Backed extensively by the rhythmic powerhouse of The Meters, the sophisticated arrangements fuse gritty, syncopated funk with elegant horn charts. The LP highlights his immense influence as a foundational architect of the Louisiana sound.
