Album Notes & Community Reviews

The formidable drummer's solo debut for Blue Note Records is a spectacular, high-energy showcase of early 1970s jazz-funk and fusion. Having recently departed Weather Report, Mouzon composed and arranged the entire session, heavily utilizing early synthesizers, electric piano, and incredibly tight, syncopated drum breaks. The album highlights his staggering technical ability and his profound influence on the evolution of deeply grooving, electric jazz.
