Album Notes & Community Reviews

The formidable Japanese instrumental power trio Altered States delivers an absolute masterclass in frenetic musicianship with the blistering 'Mosaic'. The record furiously collides the aggressive, unyielding dissonance of noise rock with the highly complex, rapid-fire time signature changes typically associated strictly with brutal prog and avant-garde jazz. It remains to this day a truly breathtaking display of tightly coiled musical improvisation and sheer, unfiltered instrumental virtuosity.
