Marking their final recording for Island Records, the highly idiosyncratic acoustic ensemble notably shifted their focus from strict Elizabethan and Renaissance pastiche toward more contemporary, lushly orchestrated folk-pop. Accompanied by members of Free and Traffic, the arrangements remain incredibly delicate, featuring intricate lute and recorder interplay, but embrace a decidedly softer, deeply romantic atmosphere. The stylistic evolution paved the way for their subsequent transition into commercial soft rock.
