Album Notes & Community Reviews
Completely abandoning conventional rock instrumentation, the British trio committed fully to an archaic, Elizabethan aesthetic for their highly idiosyncratic sophomore release. Utilizing lutes, crumhorns, and harpsichords, the entirely acoustic arrangements faithfully mimic the highly structured elegance of Renaissance-era court music. It remains a fascinating, deeply atmospheric anomaly within the progressive and folk movements of the era.
