Solace of the Mind

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'Solace of the Mind', Amina Claudine Myers performs solo on piano, Hammond B3 organ, and voice, creating a meditative and spacious collection of compositions that bridge her deep roots in gospel and blues with the improvisational language of jazz. The album's production is intimate and unadorned, capturing the subtle nuances of her performance while fostering a deeply personal and reflective atmosphere. Revisiting several pieces from her early catalog alongside new material, the work stands as a quiet, masterful testament to her six-decade career, emphasizing poetic clarity and spiritual weight over overt technical display.
