Album Notes & Community Reviews
Serving as the final studio recording before his passing, 'Time Lines' captures the legendary pianist leading a highly empathetic quintet through a set of harmonically sophisticated post-bop originals. Hill's unmistakable, angular playing style remains sharp yet meditative, providing ample space for his collaborators to shine. It is universally regarded as a graceful, poignant coda to one of jazz's most idiosyncratic discographies.
