Album Notes & Community Reviews

Collaborating with renowned producer John Congleton, the Phoenix folk-punk stalwarts significantly expand their acoustic, lo-fi origins. The introduction of prominent synthesizers, fuzz pedals, and full-band arrangements provides a chaotic, slightly psychedelic backing for Sean Bonnette's intensely morbid, anxiety-driven lyrics. The record acts as a brilliant, slightly unhinged exploration of grief, existential terror, and dark humor.
