Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by Willie Mitchell and backed by the immaculate Hi Rhythm Section, the Memphis vocalist's second album solidified her status as one of southern soul's premier voices. Her gritty, emotionally commanding delivery shines on devastating ballads and punchy, horn-driven grooves alike. The record features several early classics, perfectly balancing tough independence with profound vulnerability.
