Tether

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On her full-length debut 'Tether', Nigerian-American artist Annahstasia pairs a rich, soulful vocal delivery with predominantly minimalist, live-recorded instrumentation that blends folk, soul, and jazz. The production often uses spare acoustic guitar and piano to emphasize her dynamic and poetic lyrics, which explore themes of love, self-actualization, trauma, and interpersonal connection with raw fragility. While the arrangements are largely stripped-back, they strategically swell with fuller sounds from strings, woodwinds, and soft synths, creating a soundscape that is both intimate and celestial.
