Album Notes & Community Reviews
The fourth Anonymous 4 album, 'The Lily & the Lamb' is a Marian meditation built from chant and polyphony from medieval England, centred on the Virgin Mary lamenting her dead son and interceding for the world. Its programme moves between Latin chant and Middle English song, including the lament 'Stond wel, moder'. The recording was named Classic CD's Disc of the Year.
