Album Notes & Community Reviews

The master Tunisian oud player delivers an incredibly delicate, atmospheric masterpiece of cross-cultural improvisation for the ECM label. Accompanied sparsely by clarinet and traditional percussion, the quiet, deeply melancholic recordings beautifully intertwine traditional Arabic scales with spacious contemporary jazz.
