Album Notes & Community Reviews

This profound acoustic trio session beautifully marries the complex harmonic language of contemporary classical music with the spontaneous invention of avant-garde jazz. The unique instrumentation of piano, flute, and cello creates a deeply lush, chamber-like atmosphere, paying musical homage to the poetry of Langston Hughes. It represents a high-water mark for the Third Stream movement in the 1980s.
