Album Notes & Community Reviews
Emerging from the crossover scene connecting hardcore punk with underground hip-hop, the California rapper's highly influential mixtape heavily defines the grimy aesthetic of early cloud rap. The production prominently features obscured, lo-fi samples of 1980s pop and post-punk, providing a deeply hazy backdrop for Antwon's uniquely conversational, heavily vulgar lyricism. It remains a cult-classic document of the internet-bred, DIY rap movement of the early 2010s.
