Album Notes & Community Reviews
The California-based rapper perfectly encapsulates the hazy, highly idiosyncratic aesthetics of modern internet rap on his first official studio album. 'Heavy Hearted in Doldrums' blends incredibly dense, heavily atmospheric cloud rap production with Antwon's uniquely detached, distinctly low-energy vocal deliveries and explicitly sexual lyricism. It serves as a wonderfully abstract, incredibly nocturnal, and deeply influential alternative hip-hop record.
