Album Notes & Community Reviews

This highly conceptual collaboration completely abandons traditional hip-hop drums, forcing the MC to navigate entirely through dusty, lo-fi soul and jazz samples. The incredibly minimalist, "drumless" production creates a dark, cinematic atmosphere for Planet Asia's gritty, deadpan street narratives and gangsta rap lyricism. The acclaimed release heavily contributed to the rise of the modern, ultra-minimalist underground boom bap movement.
