Album Notes & Community Reviews
Partnering with young R&B visionary Luther Vandross as her primary producer and songwriter, the Queen of Soul achieved a massive commercial resurgence with this critically acclaimed release. The title track perfectly positioned her unparalleled vocal power within slick, modern synthesizer funk and lush, dance-floor-ready boogie grooves. The record brilliantly revitalized her career for the 1980s urban contemporary radio market.
