Album Notes & Community Reviews
Despite the title and the inclusion of overdubbed crowd noise to simulate a nightclub performance, 'Yeah!!!' is actually a studio recording disguised as a live set. The album finds Aretha Franklin interpreting jazz and pop standards while accompanying herself on piano, backed by a tight jazz quartet. It represents the pinnacle of Columbia Records' attempt to mold her into a sophisticated supper-club jazz vocalist before her fiery soul breakthrough at Atlantic.
