Album Notes & Community Reviews
Bridging the gap between the theatricality of French chanson and the avant-garde rhythms of Zeuhl, 'Atavisme' is an eccentric art-pop oddity. Armande Alta茂's operatic, highly stylized vocals soar over complex arrangements provided by prominent members of the French progressive underground. The result is a bizarre, wonderfully dense collision of sophisticated cabaret and experimental rock.
