Album Notes & Community Reviews

Overcoming a severe auto accident that required him to play on crutches, the resilient 'Wild Man of the Tenor Sax' returns with an incredibly robust, blues-drenched blowing session. Accompanied by Ray Bryant's driving piano, he unleashes his signature massive, honking tone across a set of deeply swinging grooves. The record is a triumphant, visceral milestone in the early development of soul-jazz.
