Album Notes & Community Reviews

Arranger Marty Paich constructed a specialized twelve-piece ensemble to interpret seminal compositions by Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, and Sonny Rollins. The alto saxophonist navigates the dense, highly orchestrated charts with remarkable fluidity, effectively bridging West Coast cool jazz with East Coast bebop.
