Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded during a highly fertile period for the West Coast jazz movement, this session showcases the alto saxophonist's profound interplay with a top-tier rhythm section previously utilized by Miles Davis. The recording captures a transitional phase where the famously relaxed California aesthetic was increasingly infused with the blues-driven propulsion characteristic of hard bop.
