Album Notes & Community Reviews

A pioneering record in the development of Southern soul, 'You Better Move On' was recorded at the historic FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals. Arthur Alexander's plaintive, country-tinged vocal delivery profoundly influenced a generation of British rock musicians, including The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, both of whom covered his work. The title track remains a seminal crossover hit combining R&B pathos with pop structure.
