Album Notes & Community Reviews
Fiedler first recorded Offenbach's ballet score, in Manuel Rosenthal's arrangement, in 1947, and that performance became one of RCA's first long-playing classical albums. His stereo remake turned the can-can and waltz sequences into the best-known pops-orchestra record of the LP era, a fixture of hi-fi demonstration rooms.
