Album Notes & Community Reviews

Arriving amid the rock-oriented outlaw country movement, the Austin-based collective's debut album single-handedly spearheaded a massive revival of 1940s western swing. Fusing masterful, jazz-inflected musicianship with driving, upbeat country boogie, the highly infectious record pays deep, authentic homage to the foundational sound of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. It successfully introduced a new generation to a classic, deeply rhythmic American roots tradition.
