Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced in London by Iain Scott and Bunt Stafford Clark, Aweke's second album sets her Amharic vocals among soul and raï inflections and Ethiopian instruments including the krar. Its groove-led arrangements place the Ethiopian tizita tradition within a warm, contemporary soul and funk setting centred on her voice.
