Arjen Lucassen launched his incredibly ambitious, star-studded rock opera project with this sprawling, time-traveling science fiction epic. Featuring over a dozen guest vocalists and instrumentalists, the highly theatrical compositions merge heavy progressive metal riffing with prominent folk instrumentation and 1970s analog synthesizers. The complex, highly narrative release laid the massive, cinematic groundwork for one of the most successful conceptual projects in modern European metal.
