Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released independently through his own label imprint, 'The Format' is a quintessential showcase of AZ's silky, hyper-technical lyrical flow. The production boasts contributions from DJ Premier and Lil' Fame, providing heavy, sample-based boom-bap rhythms characteristic of New York hardcore hip hop. The album was celebrated as a highly consistent, conscious return to form for the veteran lyricist.
