Album Notes & Community Reviews

Continuing his commercial and artistic resurgence on the BluesWay label, the electric blues icon integrates broader, highly orchestrated arrangements into his traditional sound. 'Blues on Top of Blues' pairs his stinging, vibrato-rich guitar solos with prominent horn sections and swinging, soul-inflected grooves. The recording set the polished template that would carry him into massive crossover success at the end of the decade.
