Rising from the ashes of The Gordons, the New Zealand trio further honed their monolithic, noise-drenched post-punk sound on their second album. The incredibly dense, reverb-heavy production prefigured the shoegaze movement while retaining the anxious, angular rhythms characteristic of the Flying Nun roster.
