Album Notes & Community Reviews

Tasked with following up the massive breakthrough of 'Stunt', the Canadian quintet enlisted producer Don Was to streamline their famously quirky alternative rock. 'Maroon' focuses heavily on Steven Page's rapidly paced, hyper-literate lyricism set against highly polished, hook-driven power-pop arrangements. Despite a slightly darker, more introspective tone beneath the upbeat instrumentation, it maintained their robust commercial momentum.
