Continuing his conceptual streak of composing soundtracks for imaginary films, the former Magazine bassist delivered a lavish, intensely cinematic exploration of dark lounge music. The intricate, spy-fi jazz orchestrations are augmented by high-profile guest vocal appearances from Nick Cave and Pulp's Jarvis Cocker. The sophisticated, deeply sinister atmosphere perfectly encapsulated the moody mid-90s intersection of alternative rock and retro-noir aesthetics.
