Written while recovering from a serious illness, Will Wiesenfeld's 'Obsidian' is a dark, claustrophobic turn for Baths. The album trades the sunny textures of 'Cerulean' for glitchy beats, falsetto vocals, and lyrics about death and despair. It is a confrontational and deeply personal electronic pop album that finds beauty in morbidity.
