Album Notes & Community Reviews

Travis Laplante leads this remarkably unique ensemble consisting entirely of four tenor saxophonists. 'Palace of Wind' completely eschews traditional jazz instrumentation, utilizing incredible circular breathing techniques and multiphonics to construct massive, highly hypnotic walls of acoustic drone and complex post-minimalist structures. It serves as a brilliantly avant-garde, technically astonishing, and deeply meditative instrumental achievement.
