Album Notes & Community Reviews

The fifth studio album from the British songwriter and son of Ian Dury offers a remarkably cynical, darkly humorous examination of a profound mid-life romantic breakup. The tracking contrasts his distinctly gruff, spoken-word Cockney delivery against lush orchestral strings, prominent female backing vocals, and driving, disco-inflected basslines. The record is a highly stylized, satirical narrative exploring male vulnerability and vanity.
