Following the temporary dissolution of Wire, members Bruce Gilbert and Graham Lewis collaborated for this stark, avant-garde exercise in minimal drone and industrial noise. '3R4' completely strips away conventional rock structures, relying instead on bleak, sustained frequencies and unsettling studio manipulation. It laid the experimental foundation for their subsequent work as Dome.
