Album Notes & Community Reviews

Shedding the abrasive, experimental noise-rock tendencies of their earlier work, the Brooklyn trio's sophomore album heavily embraces sleek, pulsating synthesizer pop. The tracks are driven by hypnotic, motorik drumming and Jon Philpot's soaring, heavily reverberated vocal melodies, creating a distinctly retro-futuristic atmosphere. The record was a massive blog-era success, frequently appearing on year-end lists for its immaculate, psychedelic indie-dance synthesis.
