Album Notes & Community Reviews

The second half of Madlib's instrumental tribute to J Dilla continues his masterful exploration of dusty, soul-drenched boom-bap production. The beat tape flows seamlessly, blending obscure vinyl chops and unquantized, stumbling drum loops that perfectly mimic the warm, psychedelic aesthetic of his late friend and collaborator. It solidifies the two-part suite as a towering achievement in instrumental hip-hop.
