Album Notes & Community Reviews
Moving decisively away from the complex, classically-inspired progressive rock of their earlier releases, the Scottish ensemble pivoted toward a straightforward, commercial pop-rock sound on this outing. The arrangements favor concise, energetic boogie structures and standard song formats, attempting to capture a broader mainstream audience. This stylistic shift alienated much of their original fanbase but serves as a fascinating example of early 70s rock reinvention.
